When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable “trophic cascade” occurred. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the addition or removal of top predators – in this case the wolf -- creating reciprocal changes in the relative populations of predator and prey. It often results in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure. This short video provides a facinating look at that process. We are truly connected.
